How
Strong is Our Faith?
The following story is one of an event that
occurred in
To see such a strong faith in action in the face of great horror and death must challenge anyone and it should lead us to question ourselves, “Will my faith be that strong in the face of danger? Will I stand on what I believe in, or will I deny my Elohim in order to escape death?”
A View of the old
part Jewish of Lublin by
The Evil
Commander:
Globochnik gangs had already attacked the Jews of Lublin at the Great Yeshiva and they attacked not just the building, but also the sacred books and the blessed Torah Scrolls, which were all burned and destroyed, whilst the faithful rabbis had to look on, and then with them trembling they were also marched to the field on the outskirts of Lublin not knowing what would befall them, for they would surely die.
After a long yet a threatening time waiting for something to happen, it was with great suddenness that the armed guards formed a double line, with guns at the ready all aimed directly at our fellow Yidden in middle of the field and they stood there waiting the end to come as they prayed to Elohim!
Heading to the field
Then suddenly from behind these two lines, without warning, Globochnik stepped forward and he absolutely looked delighted with himself, thinking he had invented a nice new and ingenious torture, just as if he was thinking, “Well I have scared these filthy Jews to death, look at them some almost “--did it--” in their pants! They actually thought they were about to die, no I will stretch that out as long as I can, but die they surely will!”
His troops were well used to him inflicting brutal and mental torture upon the Yidden and they simply loved it! They stood impatiently by for their orders that would surely come in due course to go and beat their brains in and slaughter each and every one of them for that was their joy and their reward! Globochnik was in such high spirits, laughing uncontrollably. His laughter curdled the blood of all the poor Yidden together, who were waiting, and waiting for what was going to happen, for this evil man seemed to be completely mad!
Then suddenly he screeched;
“Sing, Jews, sing! I want you to sing a happy song! Yes, sing a Chassidic ditty!”
However, the Jews of Lublin remained silent. “Is this all this madman wants from us?” they asked themselves.
How could these poor people in mortal fear of their very lives bring themselves to sing a happy Chassidic song for these murderous barbarians? They were unable to open their mouths whilst in such fear.
Globochnik was not too happy, for he demanded they sing, so he yelled like a madman possessed;
“Attack those stubborn Jews! Beat them with all your might, show them no mercy!”
The guards happily followed Globochnik’s order, their ruthlessness matched only by their vehemence. As they came hitting and pushing, the Jews were forced back against the barbed wire. The Barbs on the fence tore and even shredded some of their flesh, pricking their very beings, and blood began to flow from their bodies and faces. They huddled closely together, stumbling, and falling as more, and more guards came against them, beating, and beating. Many were trampled under foot, as the confusion of a new wave of retreating people was pushed back.
Then again came that hideous voice of Globochnik,
“Sing, you arrogant Jews, sing, or you will die! Attack them; force them against the wire. Gunners, aim your machine guns. Sing you dirty Jews or die!”
Suddenly, a cracking melancholy voice broke the silence. It was the voice of a man crushed amongst these frightened ones.
He began to sing a Chassidic folk song in
which this faithful Yid poured his soul before his Elohim, the Elohim of
Avraham, Yitzchak -
But look these were the lyrics he sang …
“
“Let us be reconciled, Heavenly father, Let
us be Reconciled.”
But nobody joined him and the singing stopped. Then after what seemed like hours, the same tune broke forth again. Somebody else had started to sing. It was the same melody, but this time the words were different.
This one solitary voice in this downtrodden
crowd became the representative of all the Jews in
Suddenly it became a sea of voices that bellowed forth, joining in what seemed to be an impossible dream. Feet were now stamping, arms were locked, and the Jews of Lublin sang and they danced in joyful and spiritual harmony!
They sang and sang the following words in Yiddish;
“Mir Velen Zey Iberleben,
“We shall out-live them, Heavenly Father, we
shall out-live them!”
At first Globochnik was delighted, however, as he saw their enthusiasm, he stumbled upon their secret “This is not how a humiliated people behave?” In their song and dance, the Jews of Lublin forgot all their pain, all their suffering, humiliation, and despair. They had even forgotten the presence of that monster Globochnik himself.
“Stop you … Jews! Stop singing, stop dancing! - STOP now!” he yelled. “Attack” Globochnik ordered his ever-willing soldiers. But the Jews of Lublin kept on singing and dancing …
“Mir Velen Zey Iberleben,
The Jews of Lublin were beaten mercilessly, but they defied their oppressors. Sadly I have to tell you that only one of the Yidden of Lublin survived the horror of that day and he has told the world this amazing story. And as we know from history B’Nai Yisroel has “out-lived them.”

The prophet Yehechel - Ezekiel spoke the following prophetic words about a “valley of dry bones” around 587 BC,
“Then said He unto me; ‘Prophesy
unto the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath. Thus saith Elohim: Come from the four winds, O breath,
and breathe upon these slain, that they may live’. So
I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived,
and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great host. Then
He said unto me; ‘Son of man, these bones are the whole house of

We must remember that today there are still many good and faithful Hebrews (Jews) who love Elohim who is The One true Elohim, and they do so with all their heart and soul.
It is only by understanding Elohim’s teachings found in the Torah and for that matter all of our beloved Tanakh that we will come to understand the sheer beauty of His treasures and His truth and believe me it is healing!
Thus if you have read this today 1. Commit yourself to serve Elohim, and 2. Let us keep His blessed commandments!
Are you going to be strong and be like those
wonderful Yidden in
