With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben
Avraham-Goossens, PhD.
The concept of a “life of trust” in אֱלֹהִים
- Elohim (God), blessed be He, is demonstrated through
obedience of His commands, which is central to our beloved Torah/Tanakh.
But more so to יְהוָה
אֱלֹהֶיךָ -
the LORD Elohim, בָּרוּךְ
שֵׁם
קָדוֹשׁוֹ – ‘Baruch Shem
Kadosho’ – ‘Blessed be His
Holy Name!’
This study is rather
different to the majority of the hundreds of studies on hebraicstudies.net.
If you are a good and a faithful Hebrew, try to share more your life in Him, thus revealing your great love for אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim, בָּרוּךְ שֵׁם קָדוֹשׁוֹ - Baruch Shem Kadosho - Blessed be His Holy Name! Below are a host of verses that, which I pray will be a blessing to you!

There are an excellent number of verses throughout the Tanakh that relates, and can certainly be used for encouragement.
Please Note: All verses are from the JPS-1917 version:
Verses regarding the Value of Obedience:
Davarim - Deuteronomy 11:1.
“Therefore thou shalt love יְהוָה
אֱלֹהֶיךָ -
the LORD thy Eloheicha, and keep His charge, and His
statutes, and His ordinances, and His commandments, always”.
1 Shmuel - 1 Samuel 15:22.
“Hath יְהוָה - the LORD as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in hearkening to the voice of יְהוָה? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams”.
Yeshayahu - Isaiah 1:19.
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land”.
The Blessings of following אֱלֹהִים - Elohim:
1 Shmuel - 1 Samuel 15:22.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy ways prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”.
Davarim - Deuteronomy 28:1.
"And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ – the LORD thy Eloheicha, to observe to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ will set thee high above all the nations of the earth."
Mishle Slomo - Proverbs 16:3.
"Commit thy works unto יְהוָה - the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established".
Tehillim - Psalm 1:1-3.
“Happy is the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stood in the way of sinners, Nor sat in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of יְהוָה; And in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf doth not wither; And in whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper”.
Encouragement and Trust in אֱלֹהִים - Elohim:
Davarim - Deuteronomy 31:6.
“Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor
be affrighted at them; יְהוָה
אֱלֹהֶיךָ -
the LORD thy Eloheicha, He it is that doth go with
thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee”.
Mishle Slomo - Proverbs 3:5-6.
“Trust in יְהוָה with all thy heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy path”.
Yeshayahu - Isaiah 40:31.
“But they that wait for יְהוָה - the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.
In Conclusion:
The verses above emphasizes that a relationship with יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ - The LORD our Eloheinu involves listening to His voice and actively following His instruction from the blessed Torah, which in turn brings a fully meaningful and a blessed life!
